Enzyme Exhaustion - The Minus Diet

According to Dr. Howell, "If food enzymes did some of the work, the enzyme potential would not be facing impending bankruptcy, as it is now in the bodies of millions of people on the minus diet - food minus enzymes" (pg.4).

This is why enzyme supplementation is such a necessity today.  Sure, it would be ideal for people to eat raw food diets and get the natural enzymes from their fruits and vegetables but lets face it, this is not the case.  Foods are becoming more and more processed meaning more people are on the "minus diet" that Dr. Howell discusses.  The foods majority of people are eating lack natural enzymes that should be present to begin the digestive process in the stomach.  When your body does not have an ample amount of enzymes to break down the foods you eat, this causes stress in in the gut which then causes the body to work on overdrive.

"The length of life is inversely proportional to the rate of exhaustion of enzyme potential of an organism. Enzyme Nutrition points out that each of us is given a limited supply of bodily enzyme energy at birth. This supply, like the energy supply in your new battery, has to last a lifetime."
