Health Risks From Ibuprofen Use - Innerzyme Pain & Inflammation Blend, a Safe, Natural & Effective Alternative for Pain and Inflammation, Systemic Enzyme Formula

Before you take Ibuprofen again, you should know the health risks!  http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/12/05/for-athletes-risks-from-ibuprofen-use/?ref=health&_r=0

According to the article, "For Athletes, Risks From Ibuprofen Use" in The New York Times by Gretchen Reynolds, "many active people use the painkiller ibuprofen on an almost daily basis."  Whether an athlete is looking to kill the pain following a strenuous workout or thinking about preventative care from muscle soreness, it is clear that the risks of Ibuprofen are much higher than the benefits these athletes are hoping to experience.

Gretchen Reynolds states, "a valuable new study joins growing evidence that ibuprofen and similar anti-inflammatory painkillers taken before a workout do not offer any benefit and may be causing disagreeable physical damage instead, particularly to the intestines."  She later says, "the most common side-effect of ibuprofen is gastrointestinal damage."

Innerzyme Pain & Inflammation Blend offers a safe, natural, and effective alternative to reduce pain and inflammation following strenuous workouts or sports injuries without any harmful side effects.

Innerzyme's proprietary blend contains Pancreatin, Papain, Bromelain, Trypsin, Chymotrypsin, Rutin, White Willow Bark and Turmeric root.  It is specially formulated to naturally reduce pain, inflammation, excess fibrin and the buildup of excess free radicals.

The delivery system for Innerzyme's Pain & Inflammation Blend is an enteric coated tablet.  The enteric coating protects the enzymes from premature release in the acidic region of the stomach allowing maximum absorption and optimal release of the proprietary blend in the pancreatic juices. High potency, minimal dosage with maximum benefit! When taken on an empty stomach, it is believed that enzymes may help manage inflammation by supporting healthy blood flow to the irritated area.

Bromelain is most notable for its effectiveness in the reduction of inflammation and decreasing swelling, but the scope of its benefits continues to increase.* Derived from the pineapple fruit, this natural anti-inflammatory has many health benefits.

Chymotrypsin is naturally produced by the pancreas in the human body. The primary uses of chymotrypsin are as a naturally anti-inflammatory and as a digestive aid. As a natural anti-inflammatory, chymotrypsin may help reduce tissue damage and the formation of fibrin clots during inflammation.*

Turmeric is an herb, an Indian spice that has been used for many years because of its natural medicinal properties. Turmeric is rich in antioxidants and is a powerful anti-inflammatory.

Rutin is a potent bioflavonoid which are water-soluble plant pigments, naturally occurring chemical compounds important to maintaining optimal health. They support health by protecting and strengthening capillaries, help prevent bruising and provide support for many other biological functions.*

Injuries Don't Discriminate - Speed Up Recovery Naturally

The other day I started to read a handful of articles from various Motocross magazines compliments of DeCal Works including Racer X, Motocross Action and Transworld Motocross.  What I realized is the love, passion and dedication Motocross Athletes have for what they do each and every day. Such an extreme sport with a lot of risks but for those involved, it is their life.

So what is a common area of concern after reading all the different interviews with some of the top Motocross riders?  Injury.  It seems that injury does not discriminate.  With a sport so extreme both physically and mentally, many riders say it is not a matter of "if" they will get injured, it is a matter of when or how severe.  What is admirable is the determination when injured to recover as quick as possible and get right back into the competition stronger than before - the "comeback."

Racer X - December 2012
Five Minutes With Carey Hart: Got His Goat by Steve Matthes

"The Hart & Huntington/Dodge/Sycuan Casino team stepped up big for 2012, but like so many other teams, they were rocked by injury and didn't get the results they expected" (pg. 198).

During the interview, Steve Matthes asks ex-racer Carey Hart about his team's irregular success on the track which is due to?  You guessed it, injuries.  When asked about his frustrations regarding the injury rate of the riders on his team, Hart replies, "It's been frustrating a bit, but we're not the only ones dealing with it.  Our sport has had some injuries hit it hard.  It's always been a dangerous sport, and it's a curve you have to think about nowadays when it comes to signing riders" (pg.198).

Racer X - December 2012
Reloaded - Defending Monster Energy Supercross Champion Ryan Villopoto is on the comeback trail - an unfortunately familiar path for our sport's heroes by Davey Coombs

Comeback after comeback...a common cycle many Motocross and Supercross racers find themselves in season after season.  While some injuries are minor, others are very serious, even season ending injuries.  Even the most serious injuries do not discourage these extreme athletes as "comeback, champions, and title wins" accelerate their focus and efforts to recovery faster.

After reading about the seriousness of these injuries, many would think it is crazy to get back out there. That is until you read the interviews with these Motocross champions who live and breath this sport, completely understanding the risks involved but committing themselves to a sport they love. There is no sugar coating the dangerous nature of the sport but some might say their passion outweighs the risk.

Davey Coombs writes, "Injuries come often in motocross-it's the nature of a sport as inherently dangerous and competitive as racing motorcycles across hostile terrain. Even the very best racers find themselves in comeback mode, going from invincible to almost invisible as they disappear from the results and are left to heal and rehabilitate on their own" (pg. 126).

Enzyme Exhaustion - The Minus Diet

According to Dr. Howell, "If food enzymes did some of the work, the enzyme potential would not be facing impending bankruptcy, as it is now in the bodies of millions of people on the minus diet - food minus enzymes" (pg.4).

This is why enzyme supplementation is such a necessity today.  Sure, it would be ideal for people to eat raw food diets and get the natural enzymes from their fruits and vegetables but lets face it, this is not the case.  Foods are becoming more and more processed meaning more people are on the "minus diet" that Dr. Howell discusses.  The foods majority of people are eating lack natural enzymes that should be present to begin the digestive process in the stomach.  When your body does not have an ample amount of enzymes to break down the foods you eat, this causes stress in in the gut which then causes the body to work on overdrive.

"The length of life is inversely proportional to the rate of exhaustion of enzyme potential of an organism. Enzyme Nutrition points out that each of us is given a limited supply of bodily enzyme energy at birth. This supply, like the energy supply in your new battery, has to last a lifetime."

Enzyme Deficiency - Importance of Replenishing

Around age 30, "our enzyme potential has a problem somewhat similar to a checking account which could become dangerously deficient if not continually replenished.  Since good health depends on all these metabolic enzymes doing an excellent job, we must be sure that nothing interferes with the body making enough of them" (Dr. Edward Howell, Enzyme Nutrition, pg.4).

So what does interfere with the body's ability to naturally produce enzymes?

Poor lifestyle choices people make consisting of fad diets, eating processed foods, taking prescription medication, consuming alcohol, over indulging in sweets and artificial sweeteners. These choices cause the body to work in overdrive to rid itself of toxins and reduce the body-wide inflammation.  Raw fruits and vegetables are loaded with natural enzymes, however, the conventional diet people are living on today is processed and depleted of these natural enzymes so enzyme supplementation truly turns into a necessity.

Why is it so important to replenish your body's enzyme levels?

Metabolic and Digestive Enzymes are responsible for thousands of chemical reactions within the body that are associated with digestion, metabolic functions, detoxification, healthy immune system functioning, growth and natural healing.

Vitality Factor of Enzymes

The Vitality Factor of Enzymes - Enzymes make life possible and they are necessary for every chemical reaction to take place in the human body. "Our bodies, all our organs, tissues, and cells, are run by enzymes. No mineral, vitamin, or hormone can do any work without enzymes" (Dr. Edward Howell, Enzyme Nutrition, pg. 33).

"The living body is under a great daily burden to produce the volume of enzymes necessary to run efficiently. Unfortunately, we are not conscious of this, or we would be extremely concerned about how enzymes are dispensed, and be less likely to waste them. Enzymes are needed in digesting food, running the heart, kidneys, liver, and lungs, and even in thinking" (Dr. Edward Howell, Enzyme Nutrition, pg. 33). If you are over 30, there is a good chance you are enzyme deficient.

Innerzyme, Proteolytic Enzymes for Improved Recovery - Motocross & Supercross Athletes

Seiji Ishii, head coach and personal training specialist for motorsport athletes discusses the importance of Proteolytic Enzymes, like Innerzyme's Pain & Inflammation Blend, as part of a post workout routine to improve recovery and ensure consistent training.

Vurbomoto.com blog, Coach Seiji's Corner: Post Workout Routine by Brent Stallo:

He says, "these are enzymes that break down proteins in the body. There are many touted benefits of supplementing with proteolytic enzymes but in short, they have anti-inflammatory properties and are part of the connective tissue repairing process; they aid in digestion, and can even reduce scar tissue. Again, many benefits are being investigated but these are the main ones regarding recovery from training. The best proteolytic enzyme supplements are enteric coated to keep the enzymes intact until they reach your small intestine. Most commercially available products contain bromelain and papain but for better recovery look for trypsin and chymotrypsin which are both found in pancreatin."

Innerzyme's Pain & Inflammation Blend is a high potency, enteric-coated blend of proteolytic enzymes, herbs and bioflavonoids.  (Learn more)

Certified Sports Nutritionist and Female Motocross Athlete Talks Enzymes - Why are they so important?

RacerXVT.com article, Speed Healing: The Wonderful World of Enzymes, by Debra Meszaros:

"Because these enzymes are the single component that allows EVERY single chemical reaction of your body to occur; your liver, kidney, spleen, pancreas, your digestive system function; your ability to think, see, feel, breathe, the ability to breakdown vitamins and minerals, to build stamina and energy. All of your tissues, muscles, bones, organs and cells run on them. They govern all organ function, hormone regulation and your immune system. Scientific research has proven it is the reduction of (lack of) enzyme production in the body that allows our cells to degenerate and die."

Debra discusses the vigorous training and stress Motocross athletes put on their bodies increasing the need for more proteolytic enzymes or "protein-eating" enzymes to reduce inflammation, speed up the healing process and even help eat away at excess scar tissue that often causes pain.

Main Functions of Innerzyme's Pain & Inflammation Blend

Natural Anti-Inflammatory
Innerzyme's Pain & Inflammation Blend is a systemic enzyme formula of proteolytic enzymes, herbs and bioflavonoids specially formulated to support the body's naturally inflammatory response. Much different than the role of a digestive enzyme, a systemic enzyme begins to break down in the small intestine and focuses on the reduction of pain and inflammation throughout the entire body. Inflammation is a reaction by the immune system to an irritation which often results in pain, swelling and tenderness.*
Proteolytic enzymes or "protein eating enzymes" are the first line of defense against body-wide inflammation which may begin in the stomach and expand throughout the body to all the major organs.
Scar Tissue and Excess Fibrin
Proteolytic enzymes eat away scar tissue and reduce the development of excess fibrin throughout the body.  Fibrin is just another name for scar tissue which is also referred to as fibrosis.  When the body is healthy and producing an efficient amount of enzymes, most cuts, scraps and woulds leave small, nearly invisible scars.*
How come our cuts, scraps and wounds do not heal so well the older we get and they often leave a thick and very visible scar? The answer is enzymes!  Before a person reaches their late twenties, the body can afford to disperse out an ample amount of enzymes to travel to the site where excess scar tissue is present. Those enzymes which are naturally produced by the body when a person is younger will eat away the excess scar tissue leaving a small trace of a scar.  However, as we age, our enzyme pool starts to decrease and we naturally have less and less enzymes present to help rid the body of excess scar tissue.
The good news is...if we replenish our lost enzymes through supplementation, we can fill our enzyme pool back up so the body can regulate like it used to years ago and in turn reduce the amount of excess fibrin throughout the body.*

Blood Cleansing Properties
Systemic enzymes may help clean excess fibrin and exogenous material from the blood.  Cleaner blood means better nutrient absorption and improved circulation.  So how do these toxins and fibrin get into the blood in the first place?  The organs and cells in our bodies dispose of these materials in our blood which can cause clots, poor circulation, blood thickening and other health issues.*
When implementing an enzyme regimen, large exogenous materials and fibrin in the blood can be broken down dramatically allowing the material to flow through the body and pass into the bowel faster.
So systemic enzymes have blood cleansing properties but does that mean they are blood thinners?
The answer is no.  Since a systemic enzyme will rid the body of toxins and fibrin in the blood making it cleaner, they body is able to absorb more nutrients.  So you may have read some warnings about not taking a systemic enzyme if you are on blood thinners and the reason boils down to cleaner blood and better absorption. Since the blood is cleaner, some people have reported an increase in the effectiveness of prescription drugs so there may be a chance of thinning the blood too much by pairing an enzyme supplement with a prescription blood thinner.  Either way, it is best to take precaution and talk to your doctor if you are beginning the Innerzyme Pain & Inflammation Blend and you are currently taking a blood thinner.

Supports Healthy Immune System Functioning
Systemic enzymes assist the body to balance the immune system and restore a steady state to the body.  A low functioning immune system means the body is more susceptible to disease.  However, an extremely high functioning immune system will often create antibodies that attach the tissues within the body such as with autoimmune diseases or arthritis.  Supplementation of a well balanced systemic enzyme formula like Innerzyme's Pain & Inflammation Blend may help regulate the immune system and eat away at those antibodies that are attacking the body's tissue creating a disease state within the body.*
When it comes to viruses, protein cell walls build up around a virus and then bond together and replicate to cause harm throughout the body.  The body knows what the body needs and these harmful protein walls are definitely not needed.  The good thing about enzymes is they already know what protein to leave alone and what "foreign" protein to attack and eat away in order to inhibit the replication of the virus.*

Is Bromelain Good For Joint Health?

According to the CDC, "about 50 million adults in the US suffer from some form of arthritis or related inflammatory condition."

"Is Bromelain Good For Joints?" by Bonnie Vanaman (May 12, 2011),

"U.K. researchers investigated bromelain's effects on joint health in healthy subjects without arthritis but who had knee pain. The results, published in "Phytomedicine" in 2002 showed that a combination of bromelain, trypsin and rutosid significantly improved scores on the WOMAC knee health index in subjects. However, a separate 2006 project in "QJM," the monthly journal of the Association of Physicians, did not find significant improvement in moderate-to-severe osteoarthritis of the knee in subjects using bromelain alone. In that same, year, German scientists published a study in "Clinical and Experimental Rheumatology" showing that the bromelain, trypsin and rutosid combination was as effective as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for treating pain, stiffness and physical function in arthritis of the hip joint."

Innerzyme Pain & Inflammation Blend for Post-Operative Scar Tissue, Inflammation and Pain

Operations, Injuries and Innerzyme!

Nearly all injuries and operations result in inflammatory reactions and the build up of excess scar tissue often causing pain and swelling. When caring for injuries and during recovery and follow up after an operation, "it is therefore important to apply medications for reducing the swelling and anti-inflammatory as well as fibrinolytic agents. If possible, such treatment should produce no adverse effects and should further the natural healing processes of the organism" (Wrba, H. & Pecher, O., Enzymes-A Drug of the Future, pg.75).

Did you know that Systemic Enzymes, like Innerzyme's Pain & Inflammation Blend, are very beneficial for naturally reducing post-operative scar tissue, inflammation and pain? Whether you recently had surgery or it has been 15+ years and now you are living with pain, Innerzyme's high potency blend of proteolytic enzymes and natural anti-inflammatories can help!

Did you know that nearly every injury, illness and operation will have an inflammatory component? It is a natural protective response to injuries that happen on a cellular level. However, if the inflammation is not resolved or reduced in the acute stage, it may become a chronic inflammatory problem.

Did you know that any trauma to the tissue of the body creates inflammation? The inflammation then triggers the body's pain receptors which react by increasing muscle tension or causing muscle spasms. In order to reduce your pain, you need to first reduce the inflammation.

Proteolytic enzymes, like those in Innerzyme's Pain & Inflammation Blend, eat away and reduce the development of excess fibrin throughout the body. Fibrin is just another name for scar tissue, which is also referred to as fibrosis. When the body is healthy and producing an efficient amount of enzymes, most cuts, scraps and wounds leave small, nearly invisible scars. Help replenish your enzyme levels to support overall health, improved metabolic functioning, detoxification and natural healing.

What are Enzymes | Innerzyme Digestive and Systemic Enzymes

More emphasis should be placed on preventative care rather than waiting for illness and disease to occur then trying to treat it with drugs that are often more harmful than helpful. Don't wait for a problem, get ahead of it! Improving your quality of life starts with your health!

Enzymes are a vital part of life yet many people are not familiar with enzymes.  Watch and learn as we share some important information about enzymes and the benefits of enzyme therapy with Innerzyme.

Enzymes are an essential part of life and vital to your health.  Many people are not familiar with enzymes or often think of enzymes simply for digestion.  Enzymes are so much more! So, what are Enzymes?  Enzymes are biocatalysts responsible for over 3,000 chemical reactions within our body.  Simply put, enzymes help make other things work throughout the body. They are associated with:
  • Digestion
  • Detoxification
  • Metabolic Functions
  • Healthy Immune System Functioning
  • Growth
  • Natural Healing

Lets start with the benefits of Digestive Enzymes first.  Innerzyme’s Digestive Enzyme Complex is a well-balanced, vegetarian blend of enzymes that help support proper digestion and improve nutrient absorption.  What does that mean?  When taking two of Innerzyme’s vegetarian capsules with a meal, the digestive enzymes help your body break down the foods you eat such as carbohydrates, proteins, fats and dairy.  Have you heard of people say they avoid certain foods because it bothers their stomach or they have a hard time breaking down foods?  There is a good chance they are enzyme deficient and adding a digestive enzyme complex can make a world of difference.

What about gas, bloating and heartburn.  Ever experience these kinds of symptoms after a meal?  These uncomfortable and even embarrassing symptoms are often associated with meals high in fat, sodium and calories.  Looking for a natural solution? You guessed it, enzymes.  Inneryme’s Papaya Enzyme Chewable is a high potency or should be say mega potency digestive enzyme containing 1 million units of Papain per chewable.  Just chew 1 following a meal to help reduce bloating, gas or the occasional heartburn following meals.

So what other types of enzymes are there?  Systemic Enzymes! Much different than a Digestive Enzyme, a Systemic Enzyme like Innerzyme’s Pain & Inflammation Blend works throughout the entire body.  Systemic Enzymes have five main functions:
1.    Natural Anti-Inflammatory
2.    Anti-Fibrin or reducing excess scar tissue
3.    Blood Cleansing
