Natural Alternatives for Pain Management - Innerzyme & Chiropractic Care

Pain can be felt in many different ways, in many different places.  Joint pain is oftentimes described as dull or sharp.  Different sensations and intensities of pain can provide a natural practitioner with a better idea of the problem at hand.  Did you know that pain is the last indicator that there is a problem?  Many people feel pain and they immediately try to think of a recent event that may have caused it.  However, pain can surface days, months or even years after the initial cause such as in the case of a car accident or sports injury.

According to the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases, "back pain is one of the most common medical problems, affecting 8 out of 10 people at some point during their lives.”

Did you know that nearly all injuries and operations result in inflammatory reactions and build up of excess scar tissue which causes pain and swelling?  It is a natural protective response to injuries and trauma on a cellular level.  However, if the inflammation is not resolved or reduced in the acute stage, it can become a chronic inflammatory problem.

Whether someone is dealing with dull or sharp pain, acute or chronic pain, let's face it, no one wants to live in pain.  Sharp pain may be indicative of ligamentous or tendinous damage.  On the other hand, dull pain is usually due to muscle spasms which are oftentimes referred to as trigger points.

What is most often seen in the chiropractic profession is pain that has origins in the spine.  Misalignments of the spine, also known as subluxations, can cause muscles to spasm, which contribute to bad posture, which contribute to more subluxations, which lead to more muscle spasms, which lead to even worse posture and ongoing health problems.

The good news is that most pain can be decreased and eliminated through natural alternatives for pain management such as chiropractic and systemic enzyme therapy.  One of the best ways to reduce pain is to get to the source of inflammation.  Many chiropractic physicians are complementing spinal adjustments with a high potency systemic enzyme to help bring their patients back to wellness faster while getting to the root of the problem.

Taking over the counter medications like aspirin only dulls the pain and can cause internal damage to the liver and organs overtime.  Likewise, prescription pain medication simply puts a band aid on the problem.  Chiropractic treatment, however, actually gets to the root of the pain and eliminates the cause of the pain, so it doesn’t return.  Where there is pain, there is inflammation.   This is why chiropractors are adding systemic enzymes, like Innerzyme's Pain & Inflammation Blend to their treatment regimen.  This natural anti-inflammatory allows chiropractors to properly adjust the spine throughout their treatment program while reducing inflammatory flare ups.  In addition, continuing a low dose daily regimen of systemic enzymes will help reduce future occurrences of pain and inflammation which can occur from daily wear and tear on the body, exercise, overuse of muscles or even injury.

Most people who see their medical doctors for back pain usually get a pain-killer and muscle relaxant prescription.  Both will only provide temporary relief and not fix the root of the problem.  For long-lasting pain relief, ask your chiropractor how systemic enzymes and chiropractic can offer the solution you need to improve your quality of life by improving your health.

Dr. Stephen Gubernick, Chiropractic Physician says,
"I was introduced to Innerzyme about 8 months ago and continue to use it personally as well as with my patients in order to complement their spinal adjustments.  The Innerzyme products have been more than helpful.  In fact, they have been an important part of my treatment program.  I personally take Innerzyme products to not only reduce pain from overuse work stress but also to help me prevent repetitive stress injuries from developing."
